Visit to Hung Fook Tong Factory

The BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards 2019 organised a factory visit to Hung Fook Tong, the winner of Bronze Award for the services sector. The visit was led by the FHKI Honorary President, Prof. Daniel M. Cheng, FHKI Deputy Chairman and Environmental Industries Council Chairman Jude Chow as well as Vice Chairman Simon Cheung, with 20 participants joining the event.

During the visit, Hung Fook Tong demonstrated the drinks production line, shared its green measures and valuable experience on food waste recycling to the participants including disposal of 5 tonnes food waste per day through the food waste processing machine, composting and up-cycling, transforming used tea leaves from Chinese herbal tea into natural handmade soap, and etc. The group also set up plastic bottle recycling boxes at its branches to reduce plastics pollution.
